A play on the word "naked", NAKIIT holds values of simplicity and purity, whether it be in designing or sourcing materials. The "Λ" symbol in the logo signifies the coming together of the artist's heritage and background in fine art and graphic design. The "Λ" also represents scales, and thus balance, a foundational value in the creative process.
HI, I'M MELINA
I'm an artist, designer, jeweller, and maker. Creativity is my passion and using my imagination is a key component in my everyday life. With a background in painting and graphic design, I leverage my creative skills to form precious metals into one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces inspired by clean lines and intriguing details.
I have an honours degree in Fine Arts from the University of Guelph and formal goldsmithing training in Jewellery Arts from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. While studying, I launched my brand NAKIIT and have continued to nurture & grow my handmade label since.
NAKIIT is an independent Canadian jewellery brand that focuses on crafting limited edition pieces and carefully curated collections. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and meticulously handcrafted by me, using locally-sourced and recycled materials whenever possible. My jewellery creations are a testament to my dedication and passion for the craft.

DRIVEN BY INSPIRATION
As a jewellery designer and artist, I try to constantly have my eyes open, looking for inspiration wherever I go. Whether it’s observing the hard lines and edges of a modern architectural building or analyzing the heavy grain on a rich linen fabric, my intention is to collect inspiration from the material world around us.
Leading with inspiration, I love working one-on-one to design and hand make bespoke pieces fitted just for you. The wonderful thing about jewellery is that it's more than just its materials. A piece can incapsulate emotion, symbolism, celebration and so much more. Connecting with the material world drives my passion, yet connecting with others to create stunning, timeless, and meaningful jewellery is my purpose.
